Here at Marty Chiropractic & Wellness, we know that balance, dizziness, and vertigo play a huge role in your ability to work or perform every day activities. We'd love to help you get back on your feet and improve your quality of life!
There are a few common types of vertigo.
|Cervicogenic Vertigo||This type of vertigo originates from the cervical spine and often occurs after a whiplash injury or head injury.|
|Benign Positional Paroxysmal Vertigo (BPPV)||This dizziness is a result of crystals in your inner-ear being out of place or moving incorrectly. When these crystals are telling your brain you are leaning sideways but your eyes are telling your brain that you are upright, it results in dizziness and vertigo.|
|Vestibular Neuritis or Labyrinthitis||This is a viral infection resulting in inflammation of the nerves in the inner ear. The dizziness in Labyrinthitis is often accompanied by loss of hearing and nausea.|
|Meniere's Disease||The cause of this vertigo is not well understood but it may be aggravated by smoking, infections, and high-salt diets. The symptoms that accompany Meniere's Disease include hearing loss, tinnitus (ringing in the ear), and a sense of pressure or fullness in the ear.|
Vertigo Treatment in Lakeville
To determine what kind of vertigo you have, we will take a history of your condition and perform a variety of tests such as the Dix-Hallpike Maneuver and the Stool Test. Treatment for your condition also depends on the type of vertigo. Cervicogenic vertigo responds very well to chiropractic adjustments and muscle work for the cervical spine. For BPPV, we will perform the Epley's Manuever to help re-position the crystals in your inner ear. Treatment for Vestibular Neuritis and Meniere's Disease is aimed at alleviating symptoms while addressing the various causes. Call (612) 440-5776 or schedule an appointment online!
